Five months after Diogo Jota’s tragic death in a car crash on July 3, 2025, his parents accepted a special award at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, where clips of his highlights moved the crowd.
The Globe Soccer Special Award wrote on their timeline: “the award was presented in honour and loving memory of Diogo Jota 🕊️🏆
“This tribute was accepted by his parents, Joaquim and Isabel Silva, whose presence reminded us of the human side of the beautiful game and the legacy Diogo leaves behind.
“Our heartfelt thanks go to Joaquim and Isabel. André, Diogo, and their family remain in our thoughts at Globe Soccer, and across the football world.”
