Governor Sanwo-Olu: “Today, I commissioned the Eyo Monument at the John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History in Onikan.
“At 32 feet tall, it is the tallest Eyo statue ever created. More than a work of art, it captures the spirit of our heritage and gives visitors a place to learn about Lagos and connect with our story.
“This project was curated by Dotun Popoola, and I am grateful for the care, depth, and creativity he brought to it. The monument is a strong example of what Nigerian talent can achieve when given the space to tell our stories.
“With this addition, the John Randle Centre becomes even more meaningful as a home for our history and traditions, a place built to preserve Yoruba culture for generations to come.”
