Gun Malfunctions As Ohio Shoplifting Suspect Tries To Shoot Officer

The officer was inside the loss prevention office with 21-year-old Shane Newman and 23-year-old Katerina Jeffrey. However, Newman pulled out a handgun and tried to shoot the officer, fortunately, the gun did not fire.

A Walmart asset protection associate jumped on Newman before he could try again. The officer claimed he did not shoot because he did not want to hit the employee

Newman is charged with attempted murder, felonious assault on a police officer, robbery, drug possession, and having a weapon under disability

He was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to a prior felony. Police also recovered 50 blue “Molly” pills after his arrest

Jeffrey is charged with complicity to commit robbery. Newman was issued a $1 million bond, and Jeffrey was given a $500,000 bond.
