President Bola Ahmed Tinubu met with the leadership of the NLC, along with the chairman of Progressive Governors Forum, Hope Uzodimma, Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo and Governor of Kebbi State, Dr Nasir Idris and the Minister of State Labour, Honorable Nkeiruka Onyejeocha.
The chairman of the NLC, Comrade Joe Ajaero led the Labour leaders to the meeting on Tuesday night at the State House, Abuja.
They discussed national security crises like bandit attacks on teachers, farmers, and miners, aiming to find common ground ahead of the union’s Wednesday Day of Rage and Mourning.
The closed-door session comes just a day before the NLC’s scheduled mass action on December 17.
This development follows the NLC’s firm stance earlier in the week that there would be “no going back” on the protest, underscoring the urgency of addressing citizens’ grievances
NLC leaders left optimistic yet firm, as Ajaero addressed reporters positively, while the protest’s fate hung in the balance amid warnings of potential disruptions.
