The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has indeed endorsed President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election, and this was covered by The Sun Newspaper (Nigeria) in an article titled “APGA endorses Tinubu’s 2027 run,” published on December 3, 2025.

APGA’s National Chairman, Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa, announced the endorsement during a press briefing in Abuja. He emphasized the party’s alignment with Tinubu’s administration, citing shared progressive ideologies, APGA’s tradition of supporting the federal government under good governance, and recent gestures like Tinubu’s visit to Anambra State (where he wore APGA insignia) and the appointment of APGA’s Bianca Ojukwu as a minister.

While Ezeokenwa signaled strong support and alignment, he clarified that any formal adoption as the party’s candidate would require approval from APGA’s National Executive Council (NEC). However, the endorsement itself—framed as political backing for Tinubu’s re-election—is explicit and aligns with prior statements from Anambra Governor Charles Soludo (APGA’s only governor), who has repeatedly affirmed support since May 2025.

This builds on earlier endorsements, including Soludo’s May 2025 declaration during Tinubu’s Anambra visit, where APGA positioned itself as working with the APC on “progressive” grounds. Similar affirmations came in August and September 2025 from APGA’s publicity secretary, rooted in ideological compatibility and a 22-year personal friendship between Soludo and Tinubu.

This development reflects ongoing political realignments ahead of 2027, with opposition figures increasingly backing Tinubu amid economic reforms and defections
