Twitter Afire As Jehovah Witness Member Refuses Blood Transfusion For Cancer Treatment, Claims She Will Be Disfellowship.

X social media app formerly called twitter is afire on Friday morning as it condemns the place of religion in health related issues.

This springs forth as TwitterNG beloved Aunty Esther (@MensahOmolola) a personal shopper that eases her clients of the stress of running their own errands from stocking the home with food to help in buying baby needs and such.

Some months back ‘Aunty Esther’ fall requested for financial aids from well-meaning people for cancer treatment but wanted to use traditional method for cure rather than travel the medical route, rejecting all medical advice given, lost the fund opportunity as well.

Since no one was willingly to contribute to a lost cause, the matter died down, however a well-meaning netizen @AUNTYMUSE_ came online two weeks back seeking financial support for the personal shopper, revealing that her health had deteriorated and the affected breast swollen since the last plea for help, she pleaded on aunty Esther’s behalf, tagging the necessary influencers for funds and support.

Things were set in motion from involving a popular medical practitioner @the_beardedsina (Dr. Sina) who was in charge of getting her into hospital and making sure that all the important tests were carried out to @Wizarab10, a trustworthy genius in raising money for life saving causes and health related issues on X social media platform.

Within hours 30 million naira was raised for aunty Esther’s medical care, with necessary test carried out, while @Wizarab10 was transparently accounting for every kobo spent, Dr. Sina focused on her getting the best health care needed, updating the social media community of her progress/steps taken while Aunty Muse was in charge of assisting her, going back and forth with her for the treatment.

However, religion set in, Aunty Esther who is deeply indoctrinated in Jehovah Witness doctrine was unwilling to take blood transfusion for her recovery in the cause of her stage 4 cancer treatment, asking Aunty Muse to lie to the organisers of the funds to keep the secret, who bluntly refused to keep the benefactors in the dark.

All avenue to reason indisposed person fell on deaf ears claiming her church will dismember if she dares takes blood transfusion.

In an update on Friday, Wizarab in a post wearily stated that he’s confused and tired, doesn’t know what to do again and have decided to step down from the cause.

@Wizarab10 update read: “I do not regret to inform you that @the_beardedsina and I have decided to step down from Aunty Esther’s matter. The previous tweet is my best attempt at salvaging the situation. But I’ve been tired for a while.

“While we respect her religious belief, we do not have to be a part of it and the ensuing consequences. Her church people have said she would be disfellowshiped if she takes the blood transfusion. Her family have said whatever happens to her, is the will of God, while fighting against blood transfusion.

“It is best we leave her in their care if religion trumps medical science. Dr Sina has spoken with care and medical experience, and all of that fell on deaf ears.

“My best wishes go to @AUNTYMUSE_ who has been by Aunty Esther’s side daily. She leaves the house at first light to be with Aunty Esther and most nights, sleep on the floor, just to look after her. She is the liaison between myself and Dr. Sina on one hand, and the hospital or Aunty Esther on the other hand.

“Still, there is no insult she has not gotten from Aunty Esther on this matter. In fact, Aunty Esther asked her to lie to Dr. Sina and me, about her decision, but she refused. Aunty Esther is not a good or honest person.

“I’m not sure what to do with the money now. But I’ll be happy to leave it in the care of the family or church to do as they please. Dr. Sina and I have agreed to compensate @AUNTYMUSE_ for her time and effort. It is an uneasy job to be a care giver.

“Thank you all, and God bless” He added.

However, people wouldn’t have it, especially with his decision to transfer the remaining funds to the church or family members, netizens unanimously decided that the money should be used for whomever has health challenge and needs it more than Aunty Esther apparently does.

A popular influencer @UnkleAyo opined; “You’ll not like my suggestion, Dickson but DON’T give the money to the family or church. The money raised on the goodwill of internet strangers was to see another stranger survive death.

“If she’s willingly choosing death, there are hundreds of people who would crawl for an opportunity. We’ve done it before, with Sina. We had a call set up & literally saved 10 families with 5M – you can do the same for other grateful people.

“It will be a slap on the face of donors, to give that money to THE CHURCH. THE CHURCH?!?!” he added.

Damilare Odulesi pointed out: ““I’m not sure what to do with the money now.

“I can tell you what to do with the money: Since the money was contributed solely for her medical treatment which she has refused, let the money be use for someone else’s medical care.

“People donated for a cause and not for a person. If the cause is no longer in play, let the money be diverted to other places that align with the cause. Please, don’t give the money to the family.”

@Hybrid_Ola rejected Wizarab proposed idea: “The money cannot be in the care of any family or church. The money should be used to help a cancer patient who is willing to continue treatment. Aunty Esther has no right over the money, even if it was raised on her behalf. The money is strictly for medical treatment and should be used accordingly.”

@dammiedammie35: “So they’re taking the money when it obviously won’t be used for what people actually donated it for? You shouldn’t give them the money !! There’re lots of people in Nigeria right now battling with cancer and would be more than willing to take bl0 0d transfusion, please channel the rest of the money into helping those people. It’ll make a huge impact instead of wasting it on someone who’s not even willing to get better abeg !!! W t h ???

@_belikebaddy who has been a beneficiary of X human kindness stated: “I hate this i swear down, she should take the treatment this is on a platter of gold. Cancer would slowly take her away and it’ll not be pleasant.. this religion brainwash still in play in 2025 is appalling, Kudos to you sir Wiz for trying your best.”

In Investigative journalist David Hundeyin words: “The very last thing you should do is give it to the Jehovah Witness organisation. That’s like funding them to ruin more people’s lives.

“Please use the money on a more deserving person who isn’t a brainwashed fanatic member of a religious death cult.🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿”

Aunty Esther is not the first person who was raised money for and received assistance from virtual families however, she will be the first who added clause to her own method of healing, hiding under the subterfuge of religion
