Barcelona Beat Real Madrid To Win Spanish Super Cup

Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 3-2  to lift the Spanish Super Cup after a dramatic final.

Raphinha gave Barcelona the lead in the 36th minute following a costly mistake from Real Madrid. Fermin Lopez intercepted Rodrygo’s back pass and carried the ball forward before laying it off to Raphinha, who fired a left footed strike from the edge of the box into the far corner.

Real Madrid responded in stoppage time through Vinicius Junior. He collected a pass from Gonzalo Garcia near the halfway line, outpaced Jules Kounde, dribbled past Pedri, beat three more players and finished clinically, scoring a goal worthy of a cup final.

Barcelona regained the advantage less than two minutes later as Robert Lewandowski struck to make it 2- 1. However, Real Madrid equalised with the final kick of the first half. Rodrygo delivered a precise corner and Dean Huijsen rose highest to head towards goal. The effort was cleared off the line by Raphinha, with the ball striking the crossbar before falling to Gonzalo Garcia, who reacted quickest to scramble it into the net.

The second half produced only one goal and it proved decisive. Raphinha scored his second of the match to restore Barcelona’s lead, and they held on to secure the trophy.

The victory means Real Madrid have now suffered back to back defeats against Barcelona in the Supercopa final. It also marks Hansi Flick’s fourth trophy as Barcelona manager.
