Barcelona Open Talks With Manchester United Over Marcus Rashford’s Future

Barcelona have held discussions with Manchester United this month to explore the possibility of signing Marcus Rashford on a permanent basis.

The Spanish club are understood to be reluctant to activate the existing €30 million buy option and have instead approached Manchester United to discuss a reduced fee. Barcelona also raised the possibility of a second loan deal, which would include a conditional obligation to buy at a later date.

Rashford is reportedly keen on remaining at the Camp Nou, and Barcelona are equally eager to retain the England international following his positive impact since joining the club. Further negotiations between both clubs are expected to take place closer to the end of the season as they attempt to reach a mutually beneficial agreement.

The 26-year-old has enjoyed an impressive campaign so far in Spain registering seven goals and eight assists in all competitions for Barcelona. His strong form has also earned him a recall to the England national team, where he featured in their World Cup qualifying matches.
