A 55-year-old man identified as Anthony J. Kazmierczak on Tuesday as a public speaking sprayed Substance at Rep. Ilhan Omar in Minneapolis Town Hall.
The incident happened around 7 p.m. at Omar’s first in-person town hall of the year in North Minneapolis, where she criticized Noem over recent ICE operations, including raids and a fatal shooting that drew protests and lawsuits.
Security arrested Kazmierczak on the spot; the sour-smelling substance caused no injury, and Omar finished her remarks, later posting that she wouldn’t let agitators intimidate her.
Rep Nancy Mace deeply disturbed had condemned the action, she wrote: “I am deeply disturbed to learn that Rep. Ilhan Omar was attacked at a town hall today. Regardless of how vehemently I disagree with her rhetoric – and I do – no elected official should face physical attacks. This is not who we are.”
