NIGERIAN POLICE FOIL DEADLY PLOT – Seize 3,700 Explosive Detonators & Tons of Drugs in Kano! Potential Attack on North Averted? 😱💥 January 16, 2026 | Kano, Nigeria Naija, this is HUGE! The Kano State Police Command just delivered a massive blow to criminals and potential terrorists with back-to-back intelligence-led operations that stopped explosive materials and hard drugs dead in their tracks !
In a heart-pounding interception, police seized a terrifying haul:
3,700 pieces of electric detonators
Six rolls of detonating cords
All hidden in sacks, being transported through Kano!
The suspect, Ibrahim Garba (aka “Manyan Baki”), a 49-year-old from Zamfara State, was arrested after confessing he was moving the deadly materials from Nasarawa State to “other destinations.” Sources say these could have ended up fueling banditry and attacks in troubled spots like Kano, Kaduna, and beyond. 😤
In a separate bust on the same day, officers nabbed 50kg of cannabis sativa hidden in a truck, plus hundreds of Exol-5 tablets and other illicit substances. Another major win against the drug cartels poisoning our youth!
This operation comes straight from directives by the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, proving that intelligence and vigilance are working overtime to keep Nigeria safe.
