President Trump Signs An Executive Order, Launching Initiative Against Addiction And Substance Abuse In The U.S.

The White House Great American Recovery Initiative, co-chaired by HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., brings together federal agencies from health to housing to coordinate early intervention, treatment, and recovery support.

 It addresses the struggles of 48.4 million Americans with substance use disorders, including 40.7 million adults untreated in 2024, amid hundreds of billions in annual economic costs.

Trump noted roughly 300,000 yearly deaths from drugs and alcohol.
