“We embraced the dear Guili family – Itzik, Talik, Omri and Shira – together with the entire people of Israel, as Rani was brought to burial in the land of Israel.

“The sealing of the grave over Rani’s resting place marks the painful reality of the presence of Israeli hostages in the Gaza Strip. All of them – the living and the fallen – we have brought home from enemy territory.

“Rani leaped into the fires of hell on October 7, fought with heroism and saved many lives. His bravery will be remembered for generations.

“May his memory be blessed’
