RC Strasbourg have reached an agreement to appoint Gary O’Neill as their new head coach, according to a report by Fabrizio Romano. The appointment has been backed by club owners BlueCo, with O’Neill signing a long-term contract today.
O’Neill arrives in Alsace with valuable Premier League experience, having previously managed AFC Bournemouth and Wolverhampton Wanderers. His work in England earned praise, particularly during his time at Wolves, where he guided the club to a 14th-place finish in the Premier League and a FA Cup quarter-final appearance in his first season in charge.
The 41-year-old replaces Liam Rosenior, who has departed Strasbourg after completing a move to Chelsea.
Strasbourg are currently enjoying a strong campaign, sitting 7th in Ligue 1 and competing in the UEFA Europa Conference League. Expectations for O’Neill are clear: secure European qualification for a second consecutive season and push the club toward at least the semi-finals of the Conference League.
