Jürgen Klopp has emerged as a potential candidate for the Real Madrid head coach position should the club decide to appoint a new manager in the summer. While no formal approach has been made, the German coach is understood to be on Madrid’s radar as they continue to assess long-term options for the role.
Klopp is currently under a long-term contract with Red Bull, running until 2029, but this has not discouraged Real Madrid’s interest. Real Madrid in particular, are believed to hold strong appeal for Klopp, and sources suggest that he would give serious consideration to the opportunity if the club were to make a decisive move.
The 57-year-old last managed in 2024, concluding a highly successful spell at Liverpool, where he established himself as one of the most influential managers in the club’s history. During his time at Anfield, Klopp won the Premier League, FA Cup, EFL Cup, FA Community Shield, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup. He also guided Liverpool to runner-up finishes in the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League.
Before his Liverpool tenure, Klopp also managed Mainz 05 and Borussia Dortmund, where he built a reputation for high-intensity football, player development, and long-term squad building at the highest level.
Real Madrid are currently managed by Álvaro Arbeloa, who replaced Xabi Alonso few days ago . The club have not officially disclosed the terms or duration of Arbeloa’s contract, though it is believed the former defender has signed a one-year deal.
