Sevilla have officially announced the signing of French striker Neal Maupay on loan until the end of the season. The agreement includes a €6 million purchase option, giving the Spanish side the chance to make the move permanent in the summer.
Maupay has struggled for game time this season, making just three appearances. His parent club Marseille were pushing for a permanent transfer, but Sevilla were only willing to proceed with a loan deal. After negotiations, both clubs reached a compromise to complete the move.
The 28-year-old brings experience at the top level, having previously played in the Premier League with Brentford and Everton, where he was known for his work rate and eye for goal.
