President Tinubu Sacks Controversial Police Chief, Appoints Tunji Disu as New IGP

President Bola Tinubu has removed Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun from office amid jubilation at the Police Headquarters. Egbetokun’s removal comes after months of calls for his dismissal, with critics arguing that his continued stay in office was a setback for Nigeria’s security efforts. The Police Service Commission (PSC) had urged President Tinubu to sack Egbetokun over allegations of corruption and undermining the recruitment process.
