Real Madrid never considered recalling Endrick in January, despite having a specific clause allowing them to do so until January 20. The club’s plan was clear from the start: loan him to Lyon, allow him to develop with regular game time, and bring him back to Madrid in the summer.
Since joining Lyon, Endrick has made an immediate impact, scoring five goals and providing one assist in just four matches. At Real Madrid, he struggled for opportunities, spending most of his time on the bench or coming on late in games. During his time at Madrid, Endrick played 40 matches but totaled only 946 minutes and made just three appearances in the 2025–26 season before his loan move.
Lyon coach Paulo Fonseca has been impressed with Endrick’s performances and has personally requested that the club’s management do everything possible to extend his loan for at least another season.
Endrick will now aim to maintain his form at Lyon and hopes to convince Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti that he deserves a spot in the Brazil squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
