Manchester United Make Contact With Newcastle Over Tonali and Guimarães

Manchester United have made direct contact with Newcastle United over the potential signings of Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimarães as part of their plans for a major summer rebuild.

The club are determined to strengthen their midfield options and return to competing at the highest level, and both players are understood to be under consideration. According to talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook, the situation remains complicated at this stage, but United are prepared to act quickly should an opportunity arise.

Tonali has been an integral part of Eddie Howe’s squad this season, making 37 appearances across all competitions and providing four assists. His influence has been most evident in central midfield, where he has dictated the tempo of play and distributed the ball effectively, playing a key role in Newcastle’s overall structure.

Despite his importance to the team, Crook reports that Tonali would be open to a return to Italy, which could become a decisive factor in any future negotiations.

Newcastle currently value Tonali at a minimum of €55 million and are under no immediate pressure to sell.
