Victor Wanyama has officially announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 34, bringing an end to a remarkable 19-year career.
The former midfielder played across four countries and represented six clubs, most notably Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton FC. On the international stage, Wanyama earned 64 caps for Kenya national football team, scoring six goals and serving as a key figure for his country over the years.
At club level, he was part of the Tottenham side that finished runner-up in the UEFA Champions League Final 2019.
Wanyama confirmed his decision in an emotional statement shared on X:
“Today i announce my retirement from football, Four different countries six different clubs, A boy from Muthurwa with a big dream, carrying a Nations pride everytime i stepped onto the pitch. To my family, friends, agent, the fans and the coaching staff that helped me throughout”

- Scottish Premiership titles with Celtic FC (2012–13, 2013–14)
