Ajax Enquire About Marc-André ter Stegen

Ajax Amsterdam have recently made enquiries regarding a potential move for Marc-André ter Stegen over the past weeks.

The club’s new manager, Michael, is reported to be a strong admirer of ter Stegen following their previous time working together at Girona, and has personally requested the goalkeeper’s signing as part of his plans at Ajax.

FC Barcelona are understood to be open to a potential sale this summer and, in some scenarios, may even consider a free transfer in order to facilitate the player’s departure and ease squad restructuring.

However, complications remain from the player’s side. Ter Stegen is said to earn close to €14 million per season including bonuses and still has two years remaining on his current contract. He is reportedly not willing to leave the club at this stage.

Additionally, it is suggested that Hansi Flick does not currently see ter Stegen as part of his plans going forward. Barcelona are expected to hold discussions with the player in an attempt to convince him to consider a move this summer, with any departure potentially providing significant financial flexibility under La Liga’s squad cost regulations.
