Following an extensive judicial investigation, a French appeals court confirmed that Achraf Hakimi must stand trial before a local criminal court. A specific trial date has not yet been announced

The Moroccan football player is facing a pending trial in France for an alleged rape.

The allegation stems from an incident in February 2023 when a 24-year-old woman accused the footballer of sexually assaulting her at his home in the suburbs of Paris.

The plaintiff reported to the police that she went to Hakimi’s home in the early hours of the morning where the assault took place

Hakimi has consistently and strongly denied all allegations of wrongdoing. His legal representatives state that the evidence is fundamentally flawed, highlighting contradictions in the accuser’s account, and argue the accusations were an attempt at blackmail
