Los Angeles rapper Tish Hyman, on Monday confronted a transgender woman in the women’s locker room at the Gold’s Gym in Beverly Center, following multiple prior incidents where she felt violated while changing.
Gym staff revoked Hyman’s membership for disruptive behavior and escorted her out with police, despite initially removing the transgender individual who later re-entered.
The rapper stated she was escorted out of the gym by police after she demanded that men not be allowed in the women’s locker room.
In her words: “Today he saw me walk into the women’s room followed me in and called me a bitch. I ran out into the locker room crying and screaming.
“This is why we can’t be quiet because people need to know what’s happening. Thank you to the men who helped me today.
“Gold’s Gym terminated my membership after the MAN was escorted out by police. Then had me escorted out by officers afterwards.
“It was EMBARRASSING! I left but not before making sure everyone KNEW that they were allowing MEN in the locker room!
The event, captured in viral videos, has drawn widespread online support for Hyman and calls for boycotting the gym chain for revoking Hyman’s membership amid discussions on transgender access to sex-segregated facilities under California law.
Harmeet K. Dhillon, a lawyer backs the rapper’s action stating: “Courage takes many forms. God bless this woman for speaking truth. Women are naked in locker rooms and this is not safe for them.”
Another X user disclosed it’s a pattern the gym is known for and opt out of membership: “Gold Gym has a pattern of allowing men into women’s locker rooms. Instead of backing 99% of its customers that don’t want this, they pander to the 1% of degenerates out there. Time to find a new gym people”
Link Lauren a political commentator applauds Hymen’s stands: “God Bless this woman for speaking up. Women are sick and tired of being told they’re “transphobic” simply because they don’t want men violating their locker rooms and sports teams. We shouldn’t put the feelings of mentally ill men over millions of women who should feel safe going to the gym.”
