The Super Eagles returned to training yesterday at 5PM ahead of their decisive CAF World Cup Qualifiers match against Gabon, following a day’s suspension of training over unpaid bonuses.
After hours of negotiations, an agreement was reached, allowing the team to resume preparations. Captain William Troost-Ekong confirmed the resolution on X, stating:
“Issue resolved. Outstanding promises cleared on ground. Team is united and focused as before on representing Nigeria with our maximum for the games ahead. 🇳🇬”
The update brought relief to fans across Nigeria, who had expressed concern over the team’s halted training. The Super Eagles face Gabon today at 5PM, with a spot in the CAF World Cup Qualifiers Playoffs finals at stake.
