Jannik Sinner Beats Alexander Zverev To Reach ATP Finals Semifinals

Jannik Sinner defeated German star Alexander Zverev 6-4, 6-3 to secure a place in the ATP Finals semifinals.

Despite starting the match with a hand issue, Sinner dominated the world number three, marking Zverev’s third consecutive loss to Sinner in just 17 days and extending his struggles against the Italian since the 2023 US Open.

After the win, Sinner said: “I felt like I was serving very well in important moments. I tried to play the best tennis possible when it mattered, which fortunately went my way.

“We both changed a little bit tactically, so I felt like we both were trying to hit quite fast, quite flat. But I’m very happy with how I returned his serve. It’s very difficult.

“One of the best serves in the game. The group I’m in, with Sascha and Ben, it’s very difficult to return their serves.” He added

Sinner becomes the first player to reach the semifinals. Meanwhile, Felix Auger-Aliassime kept his hopes alive with a hard-fought 4-6, 7-6 (9-7), 7-5 win over Ben Shelton, who is now eliminated. Zverev still has a chance to advance but must defeat Auger-Aliassime on Friday to reach the semifinals.
