Cristiano Ronaldo arrived at the White House on Tuesday for a meeting with President Donald Trump, coinciding with Trump’s discussions with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The Portuguese soccer star, playing for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, flew from Riyadh to join the event, which White House officials described as a casual sidebar on international relations and sports investments ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
During his speech at the White House dinner Trump revealed that his son is a big fan of the Al Nassr captain stating: ““My son is a big fan of Ronaldo… Barron got to meet him and I think he respects his father a little more now.”
Ronaldo’s recent praise for Trump in an interview facilitated the gathering, underscoring U.S.-Saudi ties in soccer diplomacy.
