Pyramids FC has been crowned the CAF Club of the Year, a remarkable achievement that highlights the club’s rapid rise and dominance across African and international competitions this season. The Egyptian side delivered an exceptional campaign, finishing second in the Egyptian Premier League, just one point behind Al Ahly, and showcasing consistency throughout the domestic season.
Their biggest triumph came on the continental stage, where Pyramids claimed the CAF Champions League title. The club navigated a challenging path to glory, defeating South African giants Orlando Pirates in the semifinals before overcoming Mamelodi Sundowns in a thrilling final.
Their success continued with victory in the CAF Super Cup, where they edged RS Berkane to secure yet another major trophy.
On the global stage, Pyramids FC’s impressive form extended to the FIFA African Asian Pacific Cup, where they recorded a memorable 3–1 victory over Al Ahli in the final. The win solidified their status as one of the fastest-growing and most competitive clubs outside Europe.
The club’s meteoric rise is even more extraordinary considering its recent history. Founded as Al Assiouty Sport in 2008, the team underwent a major transformation after being purchased in 2018 by Saudi billionaire Turki Al-Sheikh.
The club relocated to Cairo and rebranded as Pyramids FC, beginning a new era of significant investment and ambitious footballing development.
