The U.S. State Department said on Monday it imposed visa restrictions on a Haitian government official for allegedly supporting gangs and other criminal organizations and for what Washington called an obstruction to the Haitian government’s fight against “terrorist gangs.”

The State Department did not identify the individual in its statement and any visas currently held by the individual will be revoked as part of these restrictions, reinforcing Washington’s stand against criminal activities impacting governance in Haiti.
