Aston Villa Come From Behind To Defeat Leeds 2-1; Unai Emery Reflects On Key Win

Aston Villa came from behind to defeat Leeds United 2-1 in Game Week 12 of the Premier League. Leeds took the lead in the 8th minute through Lukas Nmecha, but a second-half brace from Morgan Rogers sealed the comeback victory for Villa.

The win lifts Aston Villa to 4th in the Premier League table, while Leeds now find themselves in the relegation zone, dropping due to a negative goal difference.

Unai Emery praised his team’s resilience and focus after the match:

“I am very happy with the victory. It was a tough game, as we expected, but we showed great character, especially in the second half. We created many chances, and we were able to stay focused defensively when it mattered. Leeds are a very dangerous team, but we controlled the game well after we scored the second goal. Our objective is always to improve, and we must keep working hard to maintain our consistency.”

Emery also emphasized the importance of staying focused and continuing to develop as a team throughout the season.

Aston Villa’s next fixture is in the UEFA Europa League as they host Young Boys at Villa Park on Thursday 27th November. Their next Premier League match is against Wolves on Sunday, November 30th.
