The federal government of Nigeria has secured the release of 24 kidnapped Kebbi school girls while president Tinubu in a statement on Tuesday commended the effort of the military forces

Gunmen had abducted the girls from Government Girls’ Comprehensive Secondary School in Maga, Kebbi State, on November 17, killing two staff members.

In one of the Videos circulating on social media showed armed men handing over the girls, with a masked terrorist fully garbed in military ensemble, wearing a face mask, asked the students in Hausa language how many jets flew over the forest.

The students respond, “uncountable.” The kidnapper then boasts that the government could not secure their freedom by force, but only through negotiation with them.

However, the government had claimed that the girls were freed without ransom being paid.

Nigeria Minister of State Defense Bello Matawalle in post wrote: “Our tactical team has successfully rescued the abducted students of Government Girls’ Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga, Kebbi State.

“This mission was carried out in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive to ensure their safe return. I commend our security and intelligence forces for their swift response, dedication and professionalism.”

Nigerians criticize the government mode of operation, asking about the penalty that should be melted at the terrorists, calling out the government to be accountable to its citizen, asking how they were able to free the students without arresting the abductors, however, no government official is coming forward to answer the numerous questions being posed at them.

Someone had queried under Matawalle’s comment section including Nigerian musician and activist Folarin Falana known as Falz pondering: “HOW CAN YOU CONDUCT A RESCUE OPERATION & YOU ARE SAYING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT THE ABDUCTORS?!! WHO HAS BEEN ARRESTED SO FAR?!”

Another citizen stated:“For this recovery and rescue of these children without a single arrest of the bandit/Kidnappers You will sense Government know something about it. And the kidnapping is not ordinarily. Something is fishy, no single arrest of those bandits?”

While another had stated: “Then in few hrs again, we hear of another abduction? Where are the bandits? Do you just retrieve these Nigerians as if you collected your lost notebook from a classmate? These are enemies Ngr, & here we are, embarrassing ourselves globally. These people just don’t rate us at all”

Another citizen pointed out: “Lols thank God they are back. That’s what is vital. No need to lie about tactical team. Just agree you paid for their release, we won’t still kill you. Not even US, RUSSIA & CHINA combined can rescue mass kidnap without a casualty on any side at least on the TERRORISTS or ARREST”
