Former President Obasanjo Criticizes Tinubu Administration For Negotiating With Terrorist, Declares Nigerians Have Right To Call On The International Community For Help

Former President of Nigeria Olusegun Obasanjo breaks silence on Friday, criticizing the Tinubu’s administration for negotiating with bandits amid ongoing violence in northwest states like Zamfara, Katsina, and Sokoto.

“Nigerians are being killed every day, yet the government is not doing enough to stop it, before I left office, I knew that Nigeria had the capacity to apprehend anyone who committed a crime anywhere in the country. So why is the government now negotiating with terrorists?” He queried.

Obasanjo declared that Nigerians owe no one an apology for seeking assistance from the international community to tackle the country’s persistent insecurity, stressing that lives are being lost daily regardless of religion, ethnicity, or political affiliation.

“No matter what religion you belong to, no matter where you come from, no matter what profession you are in, we Nigerians are being killed, and our government seems to be incapable of protecting us. We are part of the world community,

“If government cannot do us, we have the right to call on international community to save us, to do for us what our government cannot do for us” the former president pointed out

He urged deploying drones and modern technology to eliminate threats, recalling how his 1999-2007 government built capacity to catch criminals anywhere.
