Ogun Police Command Confirms Gunmen Kidnap Six Real Estate Marketers, Days After Nigerian-American Army Officer Shares Intel Of Possible Strike

The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, has confirmed the abduction of six marketers working for a Lagos-based real estate company at Oyebola village in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the state.

Ogunlowo disclosed the development on Sunday during a telephone interview, according to the Commissioner, the victims were seized while on an inspection tour of the company’s property in the area. “So, they brought some marketers from Lagos to come and see the land so that they can have the requisite information to market the land for the members of the public who are interested.

“It was during their visit to this land that the six people were abducted. It happened on Friday, and the command had been on it since, and we shall definitely ensure that these people regain their freedom,” the CP said.

This is coming after a Nigerian-American Army officer Chibuenyi (Don Machiti) ) shared an intel alongside a video on X on 20th November 2025, warning the state police command of possible strikes.

According to the U.S office: “An intelligence agent that I have on ground has uncovered another herdsmen hideout. This time, I’ll reveal it because of what happened today.

“The hideout is in Ajebo Obafemi Awolowo LGA, Ogun State and they’re fully armed and will strike anytime soon. Yoruba land is also not safe if you’re on my page celebrating bloodshed because the President is your tribesman.

“They can be seen moving around motorcycles in their hideout. Some even brandish their guns. The rest of the videos and intel will be for my use and the American government’s usage. The Nigerian government cannot fool anyone.”

However, at the time, the Ogun police command deploy tactical teams on surveillance operation in the said community and assured residents of safety.

The command had reported that there is no imminent threat of attack in the area following the viral video on social media that herdsmen are preparing to unleash violence on the host community.

Ogunlowo, deployed the Command’s tactical team, led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations) to assess security situation in the area, in conjunction with Amotekun Corps, So-Safe Corps, Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), local hunters and Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) to undertake thorough intelligence-led assessment in and around Ajebo community.

The operatives discovered the Fulani settlers in Ajebo are not hostile migrants but long-standing residents, living peacefully within the community.

The latest attack comes after series of abductions recorded across the country in recent weeks. These include the kidnapping of 38 worshippers in Kwara State and 24 students in Kebbi State, all of whom have since been released.
