Osun Governor Adeleke Resigns From PDP Claims “Current Crisis Within The Leadership”

Osun State governor Ademola Adeleke has officially resigned from Peoples Democratic Party—PDP—claiming “current crisis within the leadership.”

Adeleke revealed his in a letter 4 of November 2025, that he “officially conveyed my resignation letter as a member to the leadership of the party in Sagba Abogunde, Ward 2, Ede North local government.”

The governor who had secured a clearance to seek the party’s 2026 governorship nomination, insisted that the chaos led him to exit.

Osun PDP leaders expressed support for his re-election bid on any platform, while his camp highlights the ‘Imole’ movement behind his 2022 victory.

He appreciated supporters for giving him the opportunity to use the political platform to launch his satisfy his political ambition, his resignation letter read further:

 “I thanked the party and its numerous members and supporters for the opportunities given to me to use the platform for my elections as first a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and now as Governor of Osun State.”
