Nigerian singer Sola Allyson says she has never found joy in marriage, revealing that although she remains married, she and her husband now live in separate houses.
“I am married but I am not in my husband’s house. The old generations lied about marriage, they didn’t make us understand how hard marriage is… “Legally married to Toyin Obaniyi since 2003, She rejects the idea of marriage as joyful or a woman’s duty to live only in her husband’s home, pushing instead for equal partnership where both share houses.
She explained that marriage has been tough for her and that she has never experienced the kind of happiness many people describe.
Allyson also clarified she’s simply Sola Allyson, not a gospel artist, as her spiritual Yoruba songs stand on their own without needing labels.
