Ivory Coast Names Squad For AFCON 2025: Zaha Returns, Haller Leads Attack In Title Defense

Ivory Coast has unveiled its squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), with a balanced mix of youth and experience as they aim to defend their title. One of the standout inclusions is the return of Wilfried Zaha, who makes his comeback after an absence from the national team. Alongside him, Sébastien Haller, a key attacking figure, will lead the line in what promises to be an exciting tournament for the Ivorian squad.

The squad, led by head coach Emerse Fae, features players plying their trade across Europe’s top leagues, including England, Italy, France, and Turkey. With Zaha’s return and a mix of established stars and rising talent, expectations are high for the Elephants to make a deep run and defend their AFCON title.

Ivory Coast has been placed in Group F, alongside Cameroon, Gabon, and Mozambique, with the expectation that they will advance to the knockout stages and possibly reclaim the continental crown.
