Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Sunday had posted a picture of himself and Rwanda President Paul Kagame disclosing that, he was on a working lunch with him, discussing Africa’s advancement
Tinubu’s photo captioned read: “This afternoon, I had a private lunch with H. E. President Paul Kagame of Rwanda to discuss the current state of world affairs and advancing Africa in an ever-changing global landscape.”
However, on the picture is a signature of Grok water mark, indicating that the picture was AI generated, this has brought about criticism from social media users, accusing the Nigerian president of lies and forgery, stating that the lunch is nothing but lies, as no such post was on the Rwanda’s present page to confirm the lunch.
Community note, a feature on X where contributors can add context such as fact-checks under a post, image or video, flagged the picture stating: “While a meeting between Mr Tinubu and President Kagame is reported to have held in Paris, the image in this post appears to be AI generated given the GrokAI badge.
British-Nigerian Dr. Olufunmilayo Ogunsanya condemnation post read: “Why the President will have a litany of stupid morons around me is beyond me.
“He had a dinner with Paul Kagame. That’s fine. Tweet about it and end it there. But no. These unvetted idiots chose to forge a picture with Grok and post it on the president’s page.
“And guess what? The complete utter fool that has done this and brought global disgrace to all of us in Nigeria will not be sacked or sanctioned.
“It’s just another Monday in the Forgery Government of Nigeria.”
