Al Nassr slipped seven points behind the league leaders after a 3-1 defeat to rivals Al Hilal in the Saudi Pro League.
Cristiano Ronaldo initially put Al Nassr ahead in the 42nd minute with a right-footed finish from the centre of the box. However, Al Hilal drew level when Salem Al Dawsari converted a penalty in the 57th minute to level the score.
The match turned further against Al Nassr when Nawaf Alaqidi was sent off for violent conduct.
Al Hilal took full advantage of their numerical superiority, with Mohamed Kanno scoring in the 81st minute following a precise cross from Ruben Neves. Neves then sealed the victory in stoppage time, converting another penalty from the spot.
The result adds to growing concerns for Al Nassr and head coach Jorge Jesus, as the team have now failed to win in their last four matches, losing three of those encounters.
Al Hilal remain top of the table with 38 points, while Al Nassr are second with 31 points, level with Al Taawoun. Should Al Taawoun win their game in hand, they will move above Al Nassr in the standings.
The defeat marks a significant setback for Al Nassr’s title ambitions and raises questions over their recent form in the league.
