Dilbert Creator Scott Adams Succumbs To Death At 68 After Cancer Battle, Leaves Last Messages.

Scott Adams, known for his Dilbert comic strip that mocked office absurdities in over 2,000 newspapers since 1989, died peacefully at 68 from metastatic prostate cancer.

Diagnosed in May 2025, he entered hospice in early January 2026, leaving a final message affirming his clear mind, crediting successes like ‘How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big,’ and accepting Jesus based on a risk-reward calculation.

“If you are reading this, things did not go well for me. I have a few things to say before I go. My body failed before my brain. I am of sound mind as I write this January 1st, 2026.”

“I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and look forward to spending an eternity with Him…” He wrote in part

His career included podcasting on politics, early Trump support praised by the president, but also 2023 controversy over racist comments that led newspapers to drop the strip—yet tributes from figures like Elon Musk and JD Vance hailed his influence.

US VP JD Vance wrote: “Scott Adams was a true American original, and a great ally to the President of the United States and the entire administration. My prayers go to Scott and all of you who loved him.

“We lost one of the good ones but we’ll never forget him.”

While Elon Musk mourned the death of Adam: “Even though I knew his death was coming, as he told us it would, I still can’t believe he has died.

“Rest in peace, good and great man, rest in peace.”
