Takaichi Sanae Receives FIFA World Cup 2026 Trophy Tour Delegation To The Prime Minister’s Residence, Hope Japanese National Team Will Bring The Trophy Back To The Country.

Japan Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae: “Today, I welcomed the FIFA World Cup 2026 Trophy Tour delegation to the Prime Minister’s Residence.

Together with former Brazil national team player Gilberto Silva, I was honored to have the opportunity to touch the original trophy.

“With less than six months remaining, I understand that this tournament will be a historic event, being the first-ever co-hosted by three countries and featuring a record number of 48 participating nations.

“In the previous tournament, the Japan national team achieved historic feats by defeating the Germany and Spain national teams, giving the Japanese people great excitement and courage.

“Even recently, the Japan team’s impressive run, including a victory over the Brazil national team in a friendly match, continues to capture the attention of soccer fans around the world.

“I sincerely hope that the Japan national team will break through the Round of 16 — their best-ever performance — and bring this trophy back home, while inspiring dreams and hope in many people, especially children!”
