Olympique Marseille have completed the signing of Ethan Nwaneri on a straight loan deal valid until June. Under the agreement, Marseille will cover the player’s salary and pay a loan fee of around €4 million, based on appearances.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Marseille head coach Roberto De Zerbi held discussions with Mikel Arteta regarding plans for Nwaneri before the move was finalized.
Nwaneri made the switch in search of regular playing time. He has featured sparingly this season, making six Premier League appearances, three in the UEFA Champions League with only one start, one in the FA Cup, and two in the Carabao Cup.
The young midfielder will hope the move to Marseille provides him with increased opportunities and valuable minutes to aid his development.
