Burnley FC’s major January 2026 signing is experienced midfielder James Ward-Prowse, who joined on loan from West Ham United until the end of the season.

The 31-year-old brings significant Premier League experience, having made over 400 appearances, to bolster the squad.

Burnley’s first signing of the winter adds to head coach Scott Parker’s options in midfield.

“As soon as I heard of Burnley’s interest and spoke to the manager, I knew this loan spell was just what I needed,” Ward-Prowse said after his arrival at Turf Moor was confirmed.

“There’s a big battle between now and the end of the season, but I’m going to relish every moment.

“I just want to get out there, pull on the Burnley shirt and give my all for the challenge that’s ahead.”
