Femi Fani-Kayode, the spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Friday, makes fumes about the unavailability of cash in circulation, he described it as “errand of destruction”, as he accused the governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele of weaponising the apex bank.
The APC spokesperson submitted that the newly redesigned notes and naira swaps are policy meant to disrupt the election processes and should have waited till after the election and voice out that Emefiele should be “stopped and caged”.
According to Fani-Kayode: “Emefiele has weaponsed the CBN and is an enemy of democracy. The policy of cancelling old notes must be totally cancelled until AFTER the election and then done lawfully. He wants to cause a crisis, provoke a people’s uprising, derail our democracy and pave the way for an ING.
“History & posterity will punish Godwin Emefiele & those behind this orchestrated mess & conspiracy. Those that sent them on this errand of destruction will also be judged. Their scorched earth policy to thwart the will of the people & derail the election WILL have consequences.”
“He has NO plans to release enough new naira notes any time soon. He wants to STARVE the people of cash & drive them to rage out of frustration. This is not about politics but about stoking up protest & revolution. This is subversion & destablisation. He must be stopped & caged!” He stated
