FC Bayern Munich In Advanced Talks To Extend Lennart Karl Contract Until 2031

FC Bayern Munich are progressing in negotiations with the representatives of Lennart Karl over a new long-term contract that would keep the 18-year-old at the club until 2031, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The proposed deal is expected to include a significant salary increase as Bayern move to secure one of their brightest young talents for the foreseeable future.

The Bundesliga champions are keen to shut the door on growing interest from other European clubs and view Karl as part of their long-term project. While the young midfielder has previously expressed that playing for Real Madrid CF one day remains a personal dream, he has never sought to create any issues regarding his future.

Sources indicate that Karl is happy in Munich, fully focused on his development, and prepared to place his trust in Bayern’s sporting vision by committing to a new extended contract.

Karl joined Bayern in the summer of 2022 from SV Viktoria Aschaffenburg and has steadily risen through the ranks. He made his official first-team debut on 15 June 2025 in a 10–0 victory over Auckland City FC at the FIFA Club World Cup.

At just 17 years, 3 months and 24 days old, he became one of the youngest debutants in the club’s history.

Since breaking into the senior setup, Karl has made 31 appearances across all competitions for Bayern’s first team.
