Sowore Slams Over His Reaction To Obi’s Submission On Naira Redesign.

By Adeoye Olorunseun

Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate for African Action Congress (AAC) and human rights activist, on Sunday submitted that the Presidential candidate of Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi is distracting Nigerians from liberation with the intention of keeping them in bondage.

Sowore’s statement had come as a reaction to Obi’s support of Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) policy of redesigning Naira to curb inflation.

Obi had mentioned that currency are redesigned in other countries as well, stating that its long-term effects on the economy are far more beneficial, he however urged the CBN to ensure that the New Naira is well circulated, in other to ease the citizens of the current Naira scarcity.

Meanwhile Sowore had kicked against Obi’s statement, emphasising that the LP presidential candidate is just like his “mentor”.

According to the AAC presidential candidate: ” what we keep telling Nigerians about @Peterobi, this is the candidate of  “owners” of Nigeria, presented to distract Nigerians from truest liberation so that they can remain in the shackles of oppression and perpetually in bondage. At the end, he is the same as his mentors!”

However, Peter Obi supporters could not ingnore the slight on their candidate and thus bashed Sowore for his unsolicited views.

It was pointed out to the AAC presidential candidate to intensify on his campaign as election is just some weeks away, as he was likened to a Student Union Government (SUG) representative rather than a presidential one.

He was asked about his seriousness for the office of the president, though some of Sowore’s fans were able to counter LP enthusiasts but even at that the human rights activist received several bashing as some statement read:

@kwerejoe: “Have you considered for once that the man you labour so much to castigate has never mentioned your name in any text or gathering? What does that tell you? Face your campaign and market yourself. You will not excel by castigating or maligning others.”

@afola_be: “From an economic standpoint, I don’t see anything wrong with PO’s comment; In the long run it’s a good idea. He also said that the CBN should be swift in addressing the resultant hardship but you think your opinion is the final. This shows the kind of SUG president you’ll be.”

@PowerMatthew3: “@YeleSowore  it’s 20 days to election, you haven’t done any campaign, and tell Nigerians why we should vote for you. You busy scanning though Peter Obi’s tweets daily, searching for what’s not lost.”

@sameze203: “Sowore Election is in few weeks time. When are you kick starting your campaign? Attacking peter obi will not give you victory so you know. Though deep down you know you’re just playing, every 4yrs declare for president, arrange fundraising for self and hibernate after.”

@jodale_V: “In six African countries they are using cashless policies. And their citizens are doing better. Cashless policy must happen in Nigeria. We must evolve as giant of Africa.”

@Uche_yt_White: “To change Nigeria you need to see beyond your emotions and see things from the broader view of socio-economic implications.

“If there is a snake that must be killed, then it must be killed before everyone can sleep.”

@PalmwinePodcast: “Sowore the policy has been enacted by law and unfortunately we have to live with it. Sacking of Emefiele doesn’t change the fact that Naira note has changed. Peter Obi was showing empathy and not everything you have to act brash about…Nigerians need empathy now.”
