The future of Antoine Griezmann has become a major talking point following revelations from journalist Matteo Moretto on Radio Marca.
According to the report, Griezmann’s possible departure is mainly a financial matter. Orlando City SC have presented him with a written offer and informed him that if he joins in March, he could be registered as a Designated Player. This status in Major League Soccer would allow him to earn more than under a standard contract.
Orlando City’s interest is not new. Last year, discussions were already taking place, and the MLS club even travelled to Spain to convince the French forward about their project. At one stage, Griezmann gave a positive response, although the idea was more aligned with a summer move rather than an immediate transfer.
At Atlético Madrid, there is no desire to part ways with the player. Head coach Diego Simeone considers him essential to the team and does not want him to leave. The club shares the same stance, but they understand that the final decision belongs to Griezmann.
The situation remains open, with the player reportedly still undecided about whether to stay in Madrid or begin a new chapter in the United States.
