25-year-old Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes, on Monday during a 1-0 match defeated to Getafe, collided with a defender, which resulted into an injury.
Club tests confirmed the damage Tuesday, sidelining him for up to 10 months and ending his season plus Brazil’s 2026 World Cup dreams.
In a post on X, he called it one of his worst days but promised a comeback, he wrote: “Even without understanding, I trust in you…” 🙏🏾
“One of the worst days of my life. I don’t know if I deserve this… but what can I complain about after all the wonderful things I’ve lived through.
“I’m out for the rest of the season and the World Cup, a dream everyone knows what it means to me. All that’s left is for me to be strong.
“Thank you all for the prayers and the affection. I promise I won’t stop here, I still have a lot to live in football. God is still in control of everything. 🙏🏾🤍🇧🇷
while Neymar offered brotherly support from his own ACL recovery experience: “Today is one of the saddest days for me.
“When I found out about the injury, it all flashed before my eyes. All the suffering, all the anguish, and the fear of going through this injury!
“My number 10, my boy, my heir (as I call you), I only ask you one thing .. “take care of your head” now is the time to surround yourself with everyone you love…
“And as you said, you didn’t deserve to go through this right now.. but who are we to doubt God’s plans 🤷🏽♂️ Little brother … STRENGTH, I’m sure you’ll come back flying
I love you ❤️ in the same way you supported me, I’ll be here for you !! @RodrygoGoes
