Hansi Flick is open to extending his contract with FC Barcelona as he continues to enjoy working at the club and appreciates the support from the fans as well as life in the city. The German manager is happy with the environment at Barcelona and remains committed to the project currently being built at the club.
Flick, however, is believed to tie his long term future at Barcelona to the leadership of club president Joan Laporta. The coach reportedly wants to continue shaping the future of Barcelona alongside Laporta and sees the president as an important part of the club’s sporting direction.
With Barcelona’s presidential election scheduled for 15 March, the result could have a significant impact on Flick’s future. If Laporta is not re elected, the possibility of Flick leaving the club could increase, either during the summer or when his current contract runs until 2027.
Flick was appointed Barcelona head coach on 29 May 2024 following the departure of Xavi Hernández. Since arriving at the club, he has already enjoyed notable success. Flick has won four trophies with Barcelona, including the 2024/25 La Liga title, the 2024/25 Copa del Rey, the 2025 Spanish Super Cup and the 2026 Spanish Super Cup.
