Chelsea FC are close to reaching an agreement with River Plate over a strategic partnership focused on developing and exchanging young talents.

The proposed deal would create a pathway for River Plate players to move to Europe, with opportunities to join Chelsea or their sister club RC Strasbourg. At the same time, Chelsea would be able to send some of their own young players to River Plate to gain experience and regular playing time.

As part of the discussions, Chelsea are expected to secure priority access to River Plate’s emerging talents, giving them a strong position in any future transfer race for the club’s top prospects.

The move fits into Chelsea’s wider multi-club strategy, where Strasbourg already plays a key role in player development within Europe. Expanding this model into South America would allow Chelsea to identify and develop talent earlier, while also giving River Plate players a clearer pathway to European football.
