Tensions are rising within Arsenal FC following their 2–1 FA Cup exit to Southampton FC, a result that has intensified concerns at the club.
The defeat marks Arsenal’s second cup elimination in two matches, the first which was their Carabao Cup final loss to Manchester City. Being knocked out by a side from the EFL Championship has reportedly been viewed internally as unacceptable for a club of Arsenal’s stature.
Despite the setbacks, Arsenal’s hierarchy still considers Mikel Arteta the right man to lead the long-term project. The club has shown patience during his tenure, backing his vision and rebuilding process.
However, expectations have now shifted. Arsenal are said to be demanding immediate success, with a strong emphasis on winning major silverware.
Should the club fail to secure either the Premier League title or the UEFA Champions League this season, it could put Arteta’s future in serious doubt potentially marking his final campaign in charge at the Emirates.
