FC Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae could leave the club this summer, despite Bayern previously blocking potential moves for him last summer and again in January in an effort to maintain squad stability under manager Vincent Kompany.
The South Korean centre-back’s situation has now shifted, with reports suggesting he has fallen down the pecking order, currently behind Jonathan Tah and Dayot Upamecano in the defensive hierarchy. This reduced playing time has raised questions about his long-term role at the club.
Several Italian clubs are monitoring his situation ahead of the summer window. However, his high salary could complicate any potential deal, especially after Bayern increased his wages following his 2023 transfer, which was initially completed below market value.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the financial aspect will be a key factor in determining whether a move becomes realistic.
Kim Min-jae has made 29 appearances in all competitions for Bayern Munich this season.
