Bayern Munich have knocked out Real Madrid from the UEFA Champions League after a dramatic 6–4 aggregate victory, sealing qualification with a thrilling 4–3 win in the second leg.
The encounter delivered seven goals in a high-intensity clash, with Bayern showcasing attacking firepower and resilience. Goals from Aleksandar Pavlović, Harry Kane, Luis Díaz, and Michael Olise secured the victory for the German side.
Real Madrid responded through a brace from Arda Güler and a goal from Kylian Mbappé, but ultimately fell short in a pulsating contest.
After the match, Luis Díaz reflected on his decisive contribution:
“I think it’s in the top three, if not number one. Looking back at my important goals, this has been one of my favorites and the one with the most meaning, given the moment in the game. It was a very complicated game, we needed the result and, thank God, I was able to score that nice goal to help the team advance to the next round.”
He added:
“We are very focused on what we want, which is to reach the Champions League final. We want to cap off the season with a happy ending.”
Bayern will now face Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals. Looking ahead to the clash, defender Dayot Upamecano acknowledged the challenge:
“It’s not going to be an easy match. PSG have a very good team with a superb coach. They play very good football; we’ve played them before. We know what to expect, and we’re going to do everything we can to win there in Paris, before we host them at home.”
The winner of this tie will advance to the final to face either Atlético Madrid or Arsenal, setting the stage for an exciting conclusion to this season’s Champions League campaign.
